MQ-8 Hydrogen Gas Sensor Module H2 Alarm Detection
The MQ-8 Hydrogen Gas Sensor Module is designed for sensitive detection of hydrogen gas (H₂) and operates using low-conductivity tin oxide (SnO₂) in clean air. The sensor’s conductivity increases in response to rising concentrations of combustible gases, enabling effective monitoring.
A simple circuit converts changes in gas concentration into corresponding output signals. The MQ-8 sensor is highly sensitive and performs well in detecting various hydrogen-containing gases.
This versatile sensor can detect a wide range of hydrogen gas, including city gas, and is a cost-effective solution for various applications. It is suitable for use in home or industrial hydrogen leakage monitoring systems and does not interfere with ethanol vapor, soot, carbon monoxide, or other gases.

How to Use MQ-8 Hydrogen Gas Sensor Module H2 Alarm Detection
To set up the MQ-8 module, connect VCC and GND to your 5 V supply, then wire the DO pin to a digital input and the AO pin to an analog input on your microcontroller. Power the board, allow the sensor to warm up for stabilization, and monitor AO for concentration readings. Configure your code to trigger on DO’s low‐level signal for alarm conditions.
